Sharing my favourite coastal sunset shots!
There’s something truly magical about a sunset by the sea. The way the light dances on the water, the sky ignites with fiery hues, and the horizon feels endless—it’s a photographer’s dream. Living and working in Cornwall, I’ve been lucky enough to witness some breathtaking coastal sunsets, and today, I’m sharing a few of my favourites with you.
The Golden Glow of St Ives
St Ives is always special, but at sunset, it becomes otherworldly. One of my favourite shots captures the harbour bathed in soft gold, with fishing boats bobbing gently as the tide rolls in. The reflections on the water make it feel like the whole town is glowing.
Perranporth’s Fiery Horizon
There’s nothing quite like watching the sun dip below the horizon at Perranporth. The long stretch of sand and dramatic cliffs create the perfect backdrop, especially when the sky explodes into deep oranges and purples. I love capturing silhouettes of surfers catching the last waves of the day—there’s such a peaceful energy to it.
A Serene Evening at Kynance Cove
Kynance Cove is famous for its turquoise waters and rugged rock formations, but at sunset, it becomes a painter’s palette of pastel pinks and purples. The waves & the rocks turn the sea into a misty dreamscape.
Reflections at Holywell Bay
Some of the best sunsets happen when the tide is just right, leaving behind a perfect mirror of the sky on the wet sand. Holywell Bay has given me some of my most striking reflection shots—moody clouds tinged with gold and pink, stretching infinitely in both directions. It’s always a moment of stillness before night falls.
Sunsets are fleeting, unpredictable, and always unique. No two are ever the same, which makes capturing them feel like a little gift every time. They remind me to slow down, appreciate the beauty around me, and chase the light wherever it leads.
